Terrariums are typically planted in a closed, glass atmosphere, which traps the moisture and humidity for plants to thrive in. Terrariums are making a comeback in the floral industry, as they require very little maintenance and low light. They are perfect for indoor settings.

To create your own terrarium design, group plants that have similar growing requirements. They should be low light, high humidity and drought-resistant.

There are lots of different vase shapes and sizes that you can use to display terrariums. For instance, glass bottles, fish bowls, wide-mouthed bowls and various glass-wear.

Tip: Plants can quickly outgrow their enclosure, to avoid this happening, pick plants that have a low growth rate. A poplar preference is to select true miniatures or plants that grow slowly.
